GlamGlow Super Cleanse Daily Treatment Cleanser Review!

If you're like me then you have a love/hate relationship with GlamGlow. You LOVE how your skin feels after using their masks, but you HATE the price. I weep a little when I hand over my credit card and watch my bank account shrink.

But then I find myself looking at myself in the mirror, rocking out to some old school Destiny's Child and saying 'I woke up like this' and feeling #flawless. As much as I hate to say it, this mask is worth every. freaking. penny. And it tears me up to say so because I wish there was a cheaper alternative that gave GlamGlow a run for it's money, but nope - it is on a whole other level.

So here's the second issue - the jar is freaking tiny- which means your love affair with this beloved mask is on a very strict timeline. I seriously would daydream about a world where I could get the satisfaction and the results that the mask gives me on a daily basis. Well the GlamGlow gods (the triple Gs, as they will now be referred to - it was coined here my friends) heard my prayers and brought us all a cleanser!

GlamGlow Super Cleanse Daily Treatment Cleanser Review

Now there are two cleansers, The Super Cleanse (a cleanser that is matched up with the Super Mud) and the Thirsty Cleanse (a cleanser matched up with Thirsty Mud). I haven't tried the Thirsty Cleanse or the Thirsty Mud as I do not have dry skin, so I cannot speak on the results of these products. However, I am a seasoned veteran when it comes to the Super Cleanse and Super Mud.

The Super Cleanse is a mud to foam cleanser. You feel like you're putting a clay mask on as you spread it on your skin. I find you need 2 pumps in order to cover your whole face (but the pumps don't pump out as much as you expect). The cleanser will dry quickly on your skin, but it's okay to let it dry, you can leave it on for a few minutes as a mini mask. Once you're ready, dampen your hands and start rubbing in the cleanser, it will turn a light grey and slightly foam. Keep in mind, this cleanser does not have sulfates in it so you will not get the foaming satisfaction as you would with a sulfate cleanser. It's a good thing that it's sans sulfates because that would just strip your skin and the oils on your skin will be dried out enough already with the clay cleanser.

My tips for using the cleanser - make sure you tone and hydrate your skin immediately after cleansing. If you use it at night then I definitely encourage you to opt for a rich moisturizer to ensure that your skin has ample hydration overnight.

Pros
1. Skin feels immediately clean/soft after cleansing
2. You see immediate results.
3. You get 5 oz. of product (yeah, that's a lot!)
4. The dispensing mechanism doesn't force you to use too much product.

Cons
1. The pump sometimes doesn't pump up when you push it down so you have to manually pull it up.
2. The cleanser container itself is self contained. This means that you cannot pop the cap off once you get to the end to ensure that you get every last drop of Glamglow goodness (and it's a pump too so it's not like you can sit it upside down and funnel out the product).
3. It's $43 (CAD), which sucks, but it's worth it.

Anyways, so that's pretty much all I have to say about the cleanser. If you want to check out my video review then click here.

Flower Beauty Review - Drew Barrymore's Make Up Line & Welcome to 2015!

Hello my lovely readers and welcome to 2015! I know this is extremely belated but I had the flu and was out of commission for awhile there. I'd like to apologize to all of my co-workers and my dad for passing on the sickness to you guys- it really spun out of control there for a bit.

Anywho, onto what brought you to this post! I recently went to Walmart and purchased a bunch of products from the Flower Beauty line. This is the brand that was created by Drew Barrymore. It is cruelty-free and American-made. A lot of the products are also paraben-free and fragrance-free (but not all, so make sure you check the label prior to purchasing if you wish to not have these ingredients in your beauty products).

If you wish to hear my review rather than read it then click here  to check out my YouTube video (and while you're at it feel free to subscribe as well so you can see my future videos).

Flower Beauty Review!
If you're still reading then welcome to the blog reader party - thanks for sticking around!

So I have very high expectations when it comes to beauty products. I take a lot of pride in the things that I own and definitely prefer to spend the money for quality items. I'd rather have less and have things that will last and are better quality/better ingredients rather than have more and sacrifice the quality.

I was hesitant to try Flower Beauty because 1. It's at Walmart and 2. It's pretty inexpensive. I know I know, I sound like a complete stuck up snob. But seriously, you can't blame me for the correlation.

You might be asking - Why are the products SO inexpensive? And the answer - Because the President of the company is Drew.Freaking.Barrymore! She doesn't need advertising, she is amazing! So she can take the thousands (or even millions) of dollars that she would spend on advertising and keep the prices reasonably low. I definitely feel that the price of her products would be comparable to brands like Urban Decay, Benefit, and Tarte if she chose to advertise. But nope, she goes on a few talk shows such as The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, does some amazing PR for Flower Beauty - and lets the rest happen organically.

After looking at the ingredients and reading more product reviews than I can even count, I decided to take the plunge and try out some of the products myself. My reasoning: if I buy a bunch of the products it will probably amount to being the same price as my Nars foundation.

The consensus - this line is AMAZING! The products are amazing quality and comparable to a lot of high end items that I spend way too much money on. I set the bar pretty high, so if a drugstore product gets my stamp of approval - then that definitely means that is a great product!

I'll briefly get into some of the products I tried out and try to be as concise as possible. I'm just going to talk about my top 3 - if you want to see my review of all the products then check out my video.

The Powder Up Loose Powder - it is QUADRUPLE MILLED (keep in mind - Hourglass and Nars powders are triple milled). It is literally undetectable on the skin and is amazing for setting your foundation. I certainly wouldn't say that this is a medium to full coverage, but it definitely is great for touching up throughout the day. The only down side is that the packaging is BIG and definitely not something you could toss in your purse for a night out.

But have no fear, there is a pressed powder called Powder Trip that is nice and compact, a medium-to-full coverage, and it has a nice natural texture/finish. I'm VERY picky when it comes to powder foundations and I honestly am not a huge fan. Why? Because a lot of them oxidize AND I find that they either don't give me the coverage I want and/or turn me into a cake face. Well, this powder literally makes me want to throw out all my other powder foundations (and that includes BareMinerals, Tarte, Too Faced, Make Up Forever, and Nars).

The last product I'm gong to talk about is the Lip Suede Velvet Lip Chubby. This stuff is fantastic! I applied it in my car mirror in the Walmart parking lot - this means that I didn't use a lip primer, a lip pencil, I didn't set it with a powder, I didn't blot it - I simply took the pencil and did a quick little scribble on my lips. I'm going to be honest here (especially because I bought the colour Red-dy To Bloom, which is obnoxiously bright)- I expected this to be a huge mess. I expected it to bleed all over my face, to fade, to go all blotchy at the centre of my mouth, and other lip colour horrors. But I was able to eat sushi, drink a bottle of water, and wear it for another 6 hours with it looking exactly how it looked when I initially applied it (with zero touch-ups might I add).

When I removed my make up by the end of the day I noticed that this pencil also leaves a bit of a stain on your lips. I mean, it wasn't like I had an awkward lip tattoo on my face or anything, it came off with my Josie Maran Argan Oil Cleanser, but it was nice to know that it wasn't going anywhere. The nice thing about it is that my lips were not dry, yet the product remained matte. I usually bite the bullet and suck it up for longevity with products such as Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick, Sephora Creamy Matte Lip Stains, and Make Up Forever Aqua Rouge. So I was beyond shocked when I discovered that there is a magical world out there where you can Hannah Montana it up and get the best of both worlds.

Anyways, I will leave you at that. If you're still here and still reading then thank you and congratulations. If you enjoyed this mini essay then feel free to subscribe to my blog and my YouTube Channel.

I think this goes without saying but this blog post (and my YouTube video) are NOT sponsored. All products were purchased by me, all opinions are my own, and they do not reflect the brand or any of its affiliates.

I hope you all have a great day and don't forget to put a bow on!

Make Up by One Direction - Take Me Home Collection Review

Hi everyone!

So I finally had a second to sit down and look over the Take Me Home Collection by One Direction. If you want to see what all of the sets look like then click here to see my blog post over-viewing it.

So let's first take a look at the overall packaging
The overall package

A quick look inside
So the packaging is pretty cute. The tin is quite bulky, so it isn't exactly travel friendly but it certainly would make a cool collector's piece. Now let's get more into the make up.
Eye shadow palette

A quick look at the colours
So the palette in this tin is described as the perfect nudes. They provide you with 3 different textures and finishes - matte, satin, and glitter. I would definitely recommend wearing an eye primer with these shadows as the pigment isn't the greatest - but they still are nice shades.
swatch of the shadows
Let's get into the lip colours

'Last First Kiss' a sheer pink nude

This colour is definitely a nice summer-y pink. It is quite sheer so I would describe it as more of a lip tint rather than a full blown lipstick. Now onto the lip gloss (the piece I'm most stoked about).

Liqui-lights glow gloss
This gloss is SO cool! It turns neon yellow under UV lights and would certainly be an awesome piece if you were going to a cool night club (or even for halloween!).

'Live While We're Young' Glitter polish
This polish has amazing pigment. I'm not a huge fan of glitter polishes in the summer just because I like to change up my polish quite frequently and glitter is a pain to take off. However, I'll be putting this guy to good use come the winter.

Next is the mascara

As you can see, it is pretty generic. I am really picky about mascaras because I have really sensitive eyes so I'm going to pass on this. But the formula is nice and wet and the brush appears to not cause any clumping. (Sorry for pooping on the party, but my eyes seriously aren't happy pandas with like 99% of the mascaras out there).

And last but certainly not least, the shadow pencil in "I wish" (chocolate brown)

This guy is cool because you can draw on your face and body with it. I haven't experimented with it much lately but it has a very creamy and blend-able texture so hurrah!

And let's just throw in a really ridiculous selfie of me sans make up because I took it, it uploaded with the photos, and why not...

Duck face FTW *face palm*

Anywho, so I hope you guys enjoyed getting a closer look at these awesome limited edition 1D make up collections. I love how they all embody a different look/personality, so make sure you pick yours out carefully!

Tarte Best in Faux Vs. Too Faced Better Than False Lashes

Hey everyone!

So I'm sure you've heard of fiber lash extensions, and if you haven't, let me give you the low down.

Fiber lash extensions consist of a 3 step system where you adhere fibers to your lashes. This is not a permanent thing like legit lash extensions - just think of it as a mascara on steroids.

So I tried out Too Faced Better Than False Lashes a year ago. If you want to check out my video review - then knock yourself out by clicking here. But brace yourself - it was at the beginning of my channel and I'm super shy and awkward.

But if you want to dodge that awkward video then I'll give you the lowdown here:

You get extremely long lashes however, the product is really sticky and a huge pain in the butt to get off.

Now onto the Best In Faux. I'll save you the reading and you can go check out my video by clicking here.

You can also click on the thumbnail below.

I hope you're all having a fab day and don't forget to put a bow on!
